06/3/2022 SONOMA COUNTY DRAGONS CSA BOX AND FLOWERS

6/3/2022 box includes:

  1. Korean Bora/Purple Mu with Radish Tops: These purple radishes are stunning sliced thin and used in salads! Our CSA member and Taiwanese book author Hui-Min Tsai wrote a lovely post about radish tops. Don't forget they are a delicious edible too! Pickle them or use as soup green. Two veggies in 1! Check out her post.

  2. Strawberries

  3. Chinese Suyo, Japanese Cucumbers, Korean cucumbers. These young Korean cucumbers will transform into nogak, or old cucumber, in late summer.

  4. Zucchini (Green or Yellow)

  5. Shanghai Bok Choy: These are so succulent and the stems are so crunchy we eat them raw right in the field!

  6. Taiwanese Bok Choy: Xiao Bai Cai. Loose leaf Chinese cabbage that can be used like a romaine lettuce!

  7. Little Gem Lettuce: Juicy, refreshing and crunchy, perfect for ssam wraps and salads

  8. Chinese Garlic Chives: The herb of today's box, this is actually used as a vegetable. Yesterday we stirfried it, but traditionally used in pork and chive dumplings!

  9. Dino Kale: Kale chips anyone?

  10. Hakurei Salad Turnips: We love these turnips, they stay juicy and crisp even when they are huge! Eat them raw like apples, slice into salads, or cut into halves and griddle with miso butter!

Please break down and save your boxes. We reuse the boxes and pick them back up the following week!

Please use our Vegetable Profile section to identify veggies and look at our Storage Tips for best practices for long life produce! Look at our catalog of recipes for ideas on how to use the produce! We also have compiled a list of cookbooks to reference.
