TESTIMONIALS FROM CSA MEMBERS

It’s wonderful to have organic Asian produce delivered to a local pickup point. The mix of mostly familiar and occasionally unusual items keeps it interesting!

Love being able to support our local farmers, especially when they offer fresh and sustainably grown asian vegetables!

A super fresh, super delicious way to show care and connect with my family members, who were impressed by the beauty and freshness of the vegetables, some they had themselves never tried. Every month I looked forward to picking up this box of care, hard work, and plant joy, dreaming and researching of different ways to prepare everything. I promise that as someone who lives alone, I was still able to use up a monthly CSA without being overwhelmed with produce. Thank you so much!

My parents are intense suburban vegetable farmers and I’ve had a lifetime of being spoiled with extremely fresh Asian produce. I really missed it when I moved away, but I was so happy to find the RFF program to fill that gap and introduce me to new vegetables as well. I’ve really enjoyed making fewer trips to the grocery store and finding creative ways to cook everything in the box!

Absolutely love what you do, and it has gotten me back to our roots cooking. My elderly father has been declining but every Wednesday I haul my bag of goodies from Reem’s to his house and show him everything and he has all kinds of ideas and comments. Wo sun is his favorite vegetable and we have loved cooking it together. Thank you for that, Leslie. It’s a priceless gift. He was also tickled to hear that you have a cache of Pei Mei’s cookbooks. My mom passed recently, and I stole her three volumes of Pei Mei’s decades ago. I’ve been poring over them and other Chinese cookbooks since joining your CSA. I generally cook kind of Cal-Ital because it’s a hassle to go to Ranch 99 and have absolutely loved getting back into Chinese cooking. Thank you so much.

We are so grateful that we found RFF via IG 3 years ago. It has been really hard to find good quality organic veggies, even in the Bay Area. RFF has inspired me to recreate dishes and preserve veggies I loved as a child. Thanks to the RFF community, I have met some wonderful people who tirelessly share their love of cooking with CSA members.

I loved the variety and freshness of the vegetables. I also am so glad I got to learn a little about the legacy of farming in Sonoma County, where I grew up. I feel I have a much richer understanding of my home and the people who have been farming there, which was missing in my childhood, as part of the wine and grape growing community

One of the best fucking things I did for myself during the pandemic. Every bouquet was a surprise and a delight to receive, and it was clear the blooms were chosen and combined with care. Many of the flowers were still going strong b the time rolled around for the next one two weeks later. They brought a much needed spot of brightness to my home.

Loved the diversity of vegetables so that I could expand my veggie tool box and the freshness is unbeatable!

We look forward to our pick up because it always means stocking our fridge with fresh and delicious vegetables and learning about new vegetables in the process. Knowing where our food is coming from is important to us. So having that connection with the folks at RFF is priceless.

We love being able to access beautiful Asian heritage vegetables farmed in a way that aligns with our values. Thank you Leslie and RFF!

I loved getting organic, locally grown Asian produce every 2 weeks at a local pickup spot. There was a nice mix of familiar greens and new, unfamiliar ones to try (with pointers from RFF to how to use them). I highly recommend RFF!

RFF filled a gap in our seasons, when our market trips and choices were limited. Every two weeks: perfect turnips, familiar yet new-to-us greens, Korean/Vietnamese/Chinese/Filipino ingredients, 100% Asian American. We had skipped our own backyard plantings this spring, so RFF felt like our surrogate farm.

This was one of the better CSA’s I’ve ever had the honor of being part of. The veggies were full of life, and lasted longer than I expected. My son and I managed to eat almost every single thing each time, because of the high quality, flavor, and thoughtful box contents. It inspired me to cook more, and I so very much appreciated the cooking classes, recipes, and above and beyond involvement of Leslie and Sarah in bringing the food closer to the table. They really care about community connection, and I always felt like more than just a customer.

I think the person who enjoyed the CSA the most in my family, was my mother back home in Asia! Every time I got a new box, I would send her a picture of everything I got. Then we would have video calls over a few days! She would literally look up the recipes, buy some herself and test them out, and then we’d have a video call and go over them. NGL she’s suuuper bummed out now that the boxes have ended for the year.

Radical Family Farms grows an amazing variety of high quality produce, and we loved our weekly CSA boxes. Our family especially loves Asian greens, and we were always so excited to see what new types of greens were in our box—they never disappointed! The unique types of produce inspired us to cook in new ways and combine different ingredients, and the weekly newsletter with photographs helped us identify the new types of produce included in the box. I am so grateful for Radical Family Farms’ commitment to practicing regenerative agriculture while growing a beautiful array of produce for the community. I am proud to support a farm which approaches growing food as culturally meaningful work.

We loved being a member of the Radical Family Farms CSA this year! We joined late in the season but still experienced such a wonderful variety of produce in that short time. In each box, we found familiar fruits and veggies, some that spoke to our family’s Asian heritages and some that were new to us — but inspired us to research new recipes and get creative with our cooking! Every box was carefully packed and smelled like a sun-kissed herb garden upon opening. We particularly love that Radical Family Farms stands for equality, diversity and representation in the Bay Area farming community and beyond. Can’t wait for next season!

This CSA is really amazing because it forced me to expand my recipe index. I would often get vegetables and herbs that I was not familiar with. It was fun to explore new recipes with the new ingredients and expand my knowledge. I also did the flower CSA and more often then not I was able to make 2 or 3 floral arrangements out of the bouquet I would pick up from RFF. I love having fresh flowers in my house and now I can have them guilt-free knowing they are coming from a local farm and compliment the vegetables that are being grown.

We’ve long wanted to find a CSA to get access to fresh vegetables and support our local agriculture. RFF turned out to be so much more — the folks at RFF care about honoring their roots, being an asset to the community, standing up for what’s right, and nourishing those of all creeds and means. Did we get great, no-spray Asian heritage vegetables out of the deal? Yes. Did we get a season full of amazing herbs? For sure. But most of all, we found a little gem that made you believe in the good of humanity again.

Each time I pick up a Radical Family Farms CSA box, I can’t wait to open it. On the way home, scents of fresh herbs reach my nose, making me walk faster. As an inexperienced cook, I sometimes question whether I can do justice to this abundance of fresh, delicious food. Being part of the CSA has shown me the value of small-scale regenerative agriculture. I taste and feel the difference, and my relationship with food has grown to whole new level of appreciation.

If you’re in the fence: do it!! In one summer I’ve significantly leveled up my Chinese stir fry skills, while eating some of the most delicious veggies out there. Sometimes I wouldn’t have enough cabbage for my stir fry, because I ate too many of the leaves raw—they were that good!
